Hi everyone.
It has been a very very long time since i have done anything on my blog but sooner or later i always make a comeback lol.
Well the excesses of xmas and the new year are over and all i can say is altho it was fun, thank christ its all over! And that the kids have started back at school, which is made better by the fact that they now attend the school 2 minutes from home. Andrew and I look at the kids sometimes and cant get over the fact at how old our family is now. We dont have babies anymore, we have teenagers and children, WOW.
And yet there are people all around us that are still breeding and we think to ourselves 'thank god we have done all that already'and i sit patiently for my sister in law and my friend to have their babies so we can be the 'cool aunty and uncle'
The kids are doing really really well. Kyla is usually off doing her own thing most of the time, but the others usually stay close to home. Ethan is real funny at the mo. The other day, he and I were lying on my bed and we were watching this documentary and their were some newborns on there. He turns around to me and says ' mummy can we have a baby. i want one pleeeze'. and I looked at him and said 'ok we can do that. it will be fun. you wont be the baby of the family anymore. youll be a big brother. isnt that cool!' and he stares at me. his eyes well up with tears and he puts his fingers in his mouth (a habit when hes upset). and, trying not to smile, i say to him fully knowing what the answer will be 'whats the matter honey?' 'I DONT WANT TO BE A BIG BROTHER. IM THE BABY OF THE FAMILY. I DONT WANT A BABY ANYMORE' Which suits us fine as we dont want anymore either!!
Andrew had a lovely couple of weeks off during xmas. Hes done a lot of work around the house and spent some quality time with the kids and rested in between. While i had two weeks off from my weekday job, i still had to work weekends, which wasnt really too bad. But now we are back into the swing of it all and thinking about saving and going to bali for xmas. Dont know how keen i am on that with tsunamis and all lol.
