1st January 2009

To start the new year off we decided to go do some food shopping and have a family dinner, just us and our kids and pets. So after preparing the salads and bread rolls, Andrew fired up the barby and threw the snags on. Unfortunately when it took 30mins to cook them, we realised that our gas bottle was just about out of gas AARGH! So the steaks and chicken nibbles ended up in the frypan and oven lol. But we still had an awesome munch numnum. Then with full tummies and empty plates, everyone started to wander off to watch tv and play xbox when I thort 'bugger this!' and stormed through the house switching everything off and demanding that everyone go across to the park to walk our dinner off instead of sitting in front of the box and letting the calories store themselves!!Andrew was like 'No way!' till he saw my face and then told the kids that it was best they did what I said! Smart man. So after half an hour at the park, we came home and cleared the dishes and stuff I got the cake out for dessert. Then I mopped the floor and me and the kids and their friends played Sing star (karaoke PS3 game)and Im proud to say that I kicked their asses! To finish off the night I went to my mates house next door and had a drink with her and our other mate who lives on the other side of me to celebrate her birthday (I only had one small drink as I have work in the morning and have been sick)A lovely start to 2009 :)

Getting Fit

You know how you start the new year with all your resolutions and good intentions and nine times out of 10 year start of good and then life gets in the way?? Every year one of my resolutions is to lose weight and I start off well.... anyway to encourage me and all that jazz the kids got me a WiiFit for xmas. Although I had heard stuff about it and most of it was positive and i was mildly interested i didnt actually think id end up with one. Anyway, once i got past the cartoony guides that it is made of, i find that im totally enjoying it and am starting to get results already (even if it is only water at this stage lol). And what makes it even better, i find im enjoying doing it all in my own home at my own time. good investment. half an hour a day and you feel great :)

SURPRISE!!

Gosh yesterday was one BIG surprise for my pregnant sister.
Joanne started having pains yesterday (she was due today)and tho they were irregular they were painful. Anyway she spent the day doing her usual things and just handled what was happening untill late afternoon when they decided to go to the hospital. From what Im told, her contractions were 7 minutes apart. Anyway, she got examined and stayed there for about an hour. And then got sent home. The baby was still pretty high but her contractions were a bit closer together but the midwife still sent her home, saying that it was nothing, that she was having braxton hicks. So Jojo went home and had dinner at my brothers and then set her daughters and son up at Davys, then her and Daniel went home for a rest. To cut a long story short Joanne ended up giving birth to her son 20minutes later in her ensuite!! By the time anyone got to her the baby was out and Daniel had to call the ambulance and Karleen arrived to help with the afterbirth. I arrived not long after as the ambos were cutting the cord and got to see my tiny nephew (6pds2oz) before they were whisked off to hospital, mum and dad in total shock but elated that he was finally here! There was a minor problem with his temperature, but today they are safe and sound at home.
Welcome my darling nephew and well done my baby sister xxxx I would post a pic but I think Ill leave that privelage to his parents :)

Another Child At High School

Today was Kaytlynns graduation from primary school to high school. She was presented her certificates today and attended their ball tonight. She was so excited all weekend and had a wonderful time tonight. Another child at high school. They are all getting so big. Ethan attended his introductory day at school/kindy last week as well. Although he was excited as we walked to school, when we went to enter the class, he got all shy and clung to me whispering 'Im scared mum' then after he was more confident, had a ball. Im going to be suffering empty nest syndrome next year :) Also sending out lots of love love love to my BFF in NZ Shanley and her husband Jon and lots of congrats on the arrival of their first baby, Logan. mwah mwah mwah xxxx
